I started my business in May of 2022 after I quit my job of seven years, where I was miserable and underpaid. 00:00:16 And I'm coming on today to let you know that in my first calendar year of business, my first full calendar year, which was the year 2023, I have replaced the gross income in my business. Well, the gross income of my business has replaced my gross annual wages at any job that I've ever worked. Yay for me. Applause, applause, applause. Right? 00:00:43 I feel pretty good about that accomplishment. I think that that kind of an accomplishment is not something that many people can say who start business is. I don't know how unusual that is, but I think it is unusual. I really put my whole accounting busy into this bitch, and I consider this year a success. However, I did learn a lot, and I am hosting a year end virtual party. 00:01:15 By the time this episode comes out, it will have already happened. But as of the time I'm recording this, I haven't had that party yet. But I want you to know that you can still access the replay of that party if you'd like to. And the reason that you would want to do that, number one, is that it is a tax deductible business expense. It is ordinary for you to pay an accountant for business type services, and it is necessary in that you are going to get a business benefit out of it. 00:01:51 You are going to get a return on your investment because I'm going to be teaching you what the hell happened this year in my business, maybe even some of my personal life stuff, what worked, what didn't, what I won't be repeating what I'm going to continue doing. All of that juicy goodness. You can hear all the tea and the cheesemay and all the drama on that virtual party. So it is being hosted on Zoom. The beginning of your tax year is January, so I'm giving you access to that content starting in January. 00:05:07 You can get your shit together, you can develop your own bookkeeping system based on my standards, and I'm also going to teach you how to set goals, how to track them, how to reach those goals, how to analyze your business data, use it for planning. January is the perfect time to do all of that stuff, y'all. December is a better time, I think, which is why I'm doing my planning for next year now in December when I'm recording this. But you'll have access starting in January and that's the next best time to start planning for the year is at the very beginning, of course.
